The Manna Soup Kitchen delivers food to 36 different nursery schools (approximately 900 children) in the Daveyton and Etwatwa areas, every Tuesday of the week. Community members have also come forward to assist us with directions and helping to put us in contact with other places throughout the area. 

We receive so many requests for assistance from some of these places that unfortunately, we have had to turn some of them down. This is because we do not have enough transport to be able to assist with the loading and distribution of food parcels in the area. We would like to call upon members of the public and the community to kindly assist us in any manner regarding transport and logistics.

In doing so we will render much-needed assistance toward the community.

 

Facilities available at the centres:

 

· 36 Various crèches in the area

· All the crèches are equipped with a full functional kitchen to prepare and cook for the children

· Classrooms to educate children

· Play Area for children at the crèches

· Room for children to have naps

Manna Soup Kitchen is in need of the following assistance:

 

·  Mielie Meal

·  Samp/ Mielie Rice
·  Rice/Soya

·  Walk in freezer for storage of fresh vegetables

·  Custom built trailer for transport

·  Large storage container for goods

·  A meat supplier for Meat Products

We are planning to train the caregivers to create and maintain their own vegetable gardens through our training facility at the Manger. This will engender ownership, sustainability and skills development.

Our long term goal for this project is to be sustainable with finances and have a continuous food supply.
